Connect an AI agent: overview

Connecting an AI assistant to PageWebPro gives it a set of tools for reading and editing your sites. From then on you can ask for work in plain language — "add a pricing page", "put the summer menu on the site", "every phone number is wrong, fix them" — and the assistant carries it out in your account.

It is not a separate AI website builder. Everything it makes is an ordinary PageWebPro site: the same pages, the same editor, the same publish button. You can hand-edit anything it built, and it can edit anything you built.

Your connection address#

You can copy it from inside the product: Account → Settings → Connected AI agents → Change. That panel is also where you see which apps are connected and where you disconnect them.

Which AI apps work#

Any other app that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP will also work; use the token method if it cannot open a browser to sign in.

What an agent can do#

Roughly 110 tools, in these groups:

• Sites and pages — create a site, add pages, write and rearrange sections, duplicate pages, set titles and meta descriptions, manage the shared layout.
• Design — set your brand colours and fonts once and have them applied across the whole site as design tokens.
• Content — define content types (blog posts, news, case studies), write and publish entries.
• Forms and files — create forms; upload images and documents.
• Languages — add languages, review what is untranslated, translate a site.
• Store — store settings, products, and reading orders.
• Bookings — services, resources, availability, add-ons, pricing rules, and the booking lifecycle.
• Events and tickets — events, dates, ticket types, and attendee reporting.
• Review — leave and resolve comments pinned to elements on a page, which show up in the editor's Comments panel.
• Screenshots — the agent can render a page and look at its own work, which is what makes "make the hero less cramped" a workable instruction.

Some groups depend on the modules enabled for your account. If store, bookings or forms are switched off, the agent says so rather than failing oddly.

Start every session with whoami#

Ask the agent to run whoami in a new conversation. It reports which PageWebPro installation it is connected to, which account it is acting as, and whether it is allowed to make changes. It takes a second and it removes the two most common causes of confusion — being connected to a different installation than you assumed, or holding a read-only credential and wondering why nothing saves.

What it will not do#

Some things are deliberately kept out of an agent's reach, most of them involving money or access. It cannot take payments, issue refunds, change payment settings, see checkout links, read ticket codes, or attach a domain to a site.
